2018.20: Connection? What Connection?
I'm not sure if this is an issue with 2018.20 on the car, or just a Tesla issue akin to the outage in April. Initially it felt like the latter, as the app (even on LTE) is complaining about network communication issues, while other applications are working fine. As this has continued now for 24 hours, and without seeing much chatter about it online, I'm wondering if it is instead that my car has stopped "checking-in", or waking-up the on-board modem, as frequently after the update (although this still feels like the less-likely cause without other bugs having found their way into the system).
The effect is that the app has been unusable. Initially, I was able to connect long enough to navigate the menus connected, but trying to enable the climate control remotely eventually popped a dialog box saying that the action had been unsuccessful. For a couple hours later, my app thought my car was still parked one town over with a door open. It seems as if, for the past day or so, the app periodically connects just long enough to update its state information about the car, but has not been long enough to be interactive.
