Model X: Fitting Car Seats
Model X: Fitting Car Seats ==========================
We grabbed the car seat from the back of my wife's car, a Diono Radian RXT which was narrow enough that we could fit three across in the Volvo XC70. It clearly wasn't going to fit rear-facing in the third row, but it did in the middle. Would the infant carrier fit behind it? Maybe. We probably should have tested that.
Yesterday we first-look-model-x] in the Model X, and realized we weren't sure if an infant carrier would fit in the third row once we got the Diono in the second row.
Our Chicco KeyFit 30 infant carrier certainly wouldn't.
That was dissappointing. We now feel like we're scrambling, with our first choice Volvo XC90 now unavailable, and our second-choice in jeopardy. In a last ditch effort to not fall further down our list—and practically speaking, probably a minivan—I searched the Web for smaller infant carriers to see what would fit. We ended-up overnighting a couple seat options, but at the same time prepared ourselves for other vehicles.
