Tesla: Don't rely on us, we're buggy, and can't be turned-off
Another funny-if-it-weren't-infuriating response, this time in response to my inquiry on disabling the system which was responsible for trying to run a cyclist off the road. I don't understand how someone could write the second line without appreciating the irony it implies.
Currently, there is not a way to deactivate the aforementioned Lane Assist feature. I would just urge you to never depend on Autosteer to determine the appropriate driving path; always be prepared to take corrective action if necessary.
I agree, I don't want to depend on it. I want to be able to disable it. What you've told me is:
The car may choose to override the "driver's" actions unexpectedly.
There are known limitations and defects in the system that does this.
There is no way of preventing the car from doing this.
