Updating Tesla V8
I had been keeping my Model X, Pensive, on the same version of the system software as the service center had tested and verified when I collected my vehicle from service in July. I had been expecting that this would help keep a consistent testing platform, with the assumption that my issues were abnormal, but I've been getting increasingly annoyed at Tesla support refusing to confirm that they weren't expected.
That has meant a couple of updates to run at once. Apparently, at least for over-the-air updates, Tesla pushes out only incremental updates. In order to upgrade from version N to version N+2, you need to first upgrade to version N+1, and then upgrade that to version N+2. This is a perfectly reasonable process, as it simplifies the assumptions needed to update each version, and given the nagging icons and pop-up, presumably most drivers keep their cars on the latest software.
TSLA Updates
It sounds like Tesla is NOT going private any time soon, but has started to work through the kinks of its Model 3 production issues. They've even added the Model 3 to their referral program.
